This is the part 2 in the Make Money Online as a Woman series.
There are tons of ways you can make money online as a woman and another is through Amazon large ebook direct publishing populary known as KDP.
If you love writing, then this income stream is for you. On the other hand, if writing is not your strong point, then you can outsource that part of the business and still make money as a KDP business owner.
KDP is an awesome business to start for so many reasons:
- It is one business you can start from the comfort of your home, even via your mobile phone!
I have over 50 ebooks published on the platform and 45 of them were written via my mobile.
- It is a passive income stream and you keep earning from each book as long as it sells. Which means you can write a book this month June, 2018 and still earn royalties from it in 2020 if it sells.
Starting on Amazon KDP
Starting on the Amazon platform is pretty simple if you follow these steps:
- Look for a niche that's selling pretty well and write on this. Each book comes with a sales rank which shows how well or badly they're selling.
To get a fast-selling niche, you'd want to look a book with a sales rank of less than 30,000.
Once you get one and get your book written, you should proceed to the next step.
Head over to www.amazon.com and sign up for an account. It's quite easy and you can have an account in 10 minutes or less.
With your account opened, type in kdp.amazon.com on your browser and sign in with your Amazon.com username and password.
Next, you'll be taken to a page where you can upload your ebooks. Click on Kindle eBook and follow the prompt., making sure you input seven well-searched for keywords.
Once you click on the 'publish' button, tour ebook proceeds to the next stage where it will be reviewed by Amazon for policy compliance and plagiarism. If it passes this stage, it goes live and becomes available on Amazon market place ready for purchase.
You have two price scales to sell on Amazon. You can peg you books at $2.99 and earn 70% of the sales or peg it at $0.99 and earn 35%.
Once you sell any book, Amazon takes its cut of the book price and you get to keep the rest.
You get notified of any sales you made in all marketplaces via email on the 20th of each month and Amazon remits the earnings to your account via check or electronic transfer on the 29th of each month.
You can sign up for a Payoneer account where you'll be given a US account if you stay outside the US and use this in receiving your royalties.
