As someone who lives in a village who has to be left behind from various aspects of social life but pride as a village child has always been a part of my life. Never being ashamed of the situation and always appearing as is is the concept of my life because in my heart are always stored values and morals that have been taught by my parents and elders in my village.
The History of the Formation of the Village
According to my grandfather's story, my village was originally a dense forest that had no inhabitants. Over time, many immigrants from outside areas wanted to work in agriculture and they began to clear agricultural land by tearing down some trees and weeds to make land for farming. The journey to return to the farmers' homes was far enough that it made them intend not to return home, so they set up tents for resting. Day by day the number of immigrants continues to grow because one of the things that attracts their attention is that the land in the area is very fertile to be used as agricultural land so that their lips are known by many people resulting in more and more residents to do work. Because the land that was opened was getting wider and so many people had set up tents, the harmony and togetherness of the migrants from various regions was increasingly created and finally when in a meeting involving all the workers who were in the location decided together to make one village.
The Origin of Village Names
Because the decision to form a village had been mutually agreed upon, the elders in the village began to think of a name for this village. At first they were confused about choosing a name because so many proposals were not in accordance with the existence of the location.
Two Big Trees
Within the residential area were two large trees growing simultaneously that stood very tall. What's unique about these two trees is that when strong winds blow and hit these two trees, the trunks and branches that are close together will rub together, causing a "terrr" sound. .. tass..terr..tass.." so from this sound, the elders in the village decided that the name of the village would be taken from the sound emitted by the friction of these two large trees. The initial name taken was " tertas" later when they deliberated together to discuss the continuation of the name of this village, because the initial name was very short they decided together to add a few letters so that the final decision for the formation of the name was passed with the name "Tumaratas" which means the friction of two large trees as a reminder to the immigrant population. That's a brief history of its formation my village.
Dedication To Pride
Today the air is quite bright after the sun started to shine, I walked out of the house and enjoyed the road which was quite quiet because of the habit of the village people who always went to do activities in the agricultural world so that almost no one was seen on the road.
The differences between the past and the present have had an impact that my village began to progress in terms of road infrastructure development, housing and buildings so that it looked more promising to be used as a residential area.
From the corner of the road stand two very tall trees, this tree is named fir but uniquely this tree is different from other cypress trees because of its height so many people in my urging advise not to cut down this tree because it is a dedication to remembering ancient times since this village was formed from the name taken based on the friction of two large trees.
In front of the tree there is a fairly large church building and this is the largest church building in our area. I also grow and develop in this church because I always carry out worship activities in this church building.
Interestingly in front of the church building there is a betel nut tree, maybe the name of this tree in your area is different, but it doesn't really matter, the most important thing is that the tree shape is the same.
This is a glimpse of the existence and life in my village. If you want to travel to my village, you will definitely meet genuine farmers and of course you will be satisfied with agricultural products that may differ from your area.
A name will be painted beautifully because the name is an identity. Made for everyone because a name is a story.
