Hola, querido hiver.
Un domingo más que llega y se va. En España este primer domingo de mayo es cuando celebramos el día de la madre. Es el primero en el que falta mi suegra y por eso tenemos una sensación extraña.
Ni por mi parte ni por la de mi marido hemos sido ni somos de hacer regalos en este tipo de fechas. Provenimos de familias humildes y trabajadoras que debían dedicar cada moneda que entraba en casa a las verdaderas necesidades, con poco lugar para los caprichos comerciales.
Aún así, se echa de menos hacer esa llamada y mandar ese beso. Hoy se lo envié al cielo, a la par que he cumplido con mi madre y agradezco que siga a mi lado. Ojalá que para repetirlo todavía muchos años más.

Mi reflexión
Esperar recibir sin haber entregado algo de nosotros antes me parece un acto egoísta y hasta cobarde.
La mejor forma de practicar es conducirnos tal como deseamos ser tratados, entregar lo que deseamos obtener, decir lo que nos gustaría escuchar. Confía en el universo y en la ley no escrita de que devuelve multiplicado lo que se le da.
Algo que me ha costado comprender es que el perdón empieza por otorgarlo a nosotros mismos. Solo cuando trabajé en quererme y darme valor comencé a recibirlo de los demás.
No es cuestión de ser buenos o malos, sino de tratar a los demás con el mismo amor que deseamos para nosotros.

Hi, dear hiver.
Another Sunday that comes and goes. In Spain this first Sunday in May is when we celebrate Mother's Day. It is the first one in which my mother-in-law is absent and that's why we have a strange feeling.
Neither I nor my husband have ever been, nor are we, a gift giver at this time of year. We come from humble, hard-working families who had to spend every penny that came into the house on the real necessities, with little room for commercial whims.
Still, one misses making that phone call and sending that kiss. Today I sent it to heaven, as I have fulfilled my mother and am grateful that she is still by my side. Hopefully to repeat it for many more years to come.

My reflection
To expect to receive without having given something of ourselves first seems to me a selfish and even cowardly act.
The best way to practice is to conduct ourselves as we wish to be treated, to give what we wish to get, to say what we would like to hear. Trust the universe and the unwritten law that it gives back multiplied what it is given.
One thing I have struggled to understand is that forgiveness starts with giving it to ourselves. Only when I worked on loving and valuing myself did I begin to receive it from others.
It is not a matter of being good or bad, but of treating others with the same love we wish for ourselves.

Afternoon: reading blog posts, editing and publishing the Saturday Savers Club post, other Hive tasks and walking with my husband and the puppy.
