So I was out here playing botanical detective in the Nigerian bush. With its deep lobes, aggressive sprawl, classic weed energy, I was absolutely certain I'd found Ipomoea mauritiana—not until I looked closer and the leaves were heart-shaped. Not seemingly... I'm thinking Ipomoea purpurea now, but then I remember purpurea isn't really supposed to be in Nigeria, so maybe eriocarpa or pileata or some other Latin I'll butcher. Finally, I squatted down, took a picture, and admit the truth: it's Ipomoea something-something, I have no idea, and the bush it's strangling probably doesn't care either.
Yeah, funny I get, but if you thing yu know the correct botanical name, tell me in the comment section below.
