I've got a bunch of NEO news today that is interesting, but doesn't really warrant a post of it's own so I decided to bundle it together into this single post instead. There's news about NEO becoming divisible, the Morpheus wallet development and beta, as well as a new NEON wallet release.
MELBOURNE MEETUP
There was a NEO meetup in Melbourne, Australia, at which Da Hongfei gave a presentation. The content was mostly the same as previous presentations, but did include some interesting news tidbits, namely that there are plans to make NEO divisible in the future. Right now NEO is indivisible, which means that you cannot own fractions of a NEO, only whole numbers. This has led to worries that if the price should continue to go up, this will make a NEO share too expensive to purchase. Da Hongfei mentioned before that they might change this indivisibility, and that the main hurdle was the mathematics involved with regards to GAS claiming though the 8-GAS-per-block that is released. However it seems the NEO team is planning to change the GAS claiming mechanism, and tackling the indivisibility issue at the same time. The new plan with regards to GAS claiming is to force users to use their voting rights through the voting mechanism, in order to be able to claim their GAS. I think this is a very smart and interesting move, actually! It essentially makes the voting mechanism something you get 'rewarded' for, ensuring a high participation from holders.

MORPHEUS WALLET
You may already know the NEON wallet, and it's great! But did you know there is also another wallet in development called the Morpheus wallet, and it's looking really awesome. The Morpheus Wallet is a multi-currency wallet that will not only hold your NEO, GAS and NEP-5 tokens, but also Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and (soon) ERC-20 tokens. Take a look at the screenshot below to see how amazing the wallet looks:
Right now the Morpheus wallet is in development and currently in early beta. Some features are working, but a lot of features still need to be implemented. So I don't recommend you actually download and use it, since it's possibly not 100% secure yet and missing a lot of features. Still, it's looking pretty exciting! This may very well end up being my 'default wallet' and replace not only the NEON wallet but also my Ethereum and Bitcoin one! Morpheus supports (partially currently) the Ledger Nano S hardware wallet too, which would make this the near-perfect wallet for me. I'm sure over time even more currencies will be added too, but I suppose first thing's first: let's see what version 1.0 will bring us in a few weeks/months time!
NEW NEON WALLET RELEASE
While we wait on the release of Morpheus, for the time being we still have the NEON wallet for NEO. It's gotten another update, and the newest version is now 0.21. This new version fixes some issues and bugs with regards to claiming GAS and hardware wallets (probably due to Ledger's upgrade) that some users were experiencing, and it also increases the support for NEP-5 tokens to include the ONT airdrop (go look to see if you got some too! I did!), as well as THOR and IAM (Bridge protocol) tokens. You can follow the link below to download the latest version. Take note: version 0.20 was released earlier on the day too, but 0.21 is the newer version that followed later on. Since 0.21 is a hotfix, on the github it doesn't display the new features and updates. You can still read them on the 0.20 github though, as long as you remember to install 0.21 instead of 0.20.
