Ask and ye shall receive... at least in this case.
The right kind of variety can be a good thing, and I think that this is one of those situations. When I shared about planting our popcorn last week, asked if I could share more about some of the other varieties. While I am just getting started on this, we are growing quite a few kinds and I did have some dried ears of corn to show off, so here's the video I made yesterday.
THE AMAZING WORLD OF CORN VLOG!!!
In this vlog I share about some of my corn gardening experiences and ideas for the future. Corn is such a beneficial crop with so many uses, it is only appropriate that it also have so many wonderful colors to represent it.
After branching off from growing just sweet corn to also try growing our own popcorn, we are now looking at producing some for corn meal and animal feed. We've got a lot of varieties to test out, and it'll probably take years to dial everything in, but every day is an adventure in the garden.
I'm hoping that some of these kinds may even work good as a sweet corn. Can you imagine one hot off the grill, dripping with butter, and sprinkled with salt and pepper? We will see, but as far as I'm concerned, it'll be worth the try. Also, we are going to get into growing a variety of other grains too, so we will keep you posted on what all we get into. I'm heading back to the garden, because it's time to grow! I hope this helped !
