I was so close that I could kiss him! A Red Bishop!
Today I will show you an amazing collection of wild birds that we regularly encounter in our walk in life!
As I said before, we are re-locating to another province that holds it's own adventures and we will join new bird families there. But still, it is a sad feeling to leave all of these little energetic souls behind!
Let's have a look!
Mr. Cormorant relaxing on a stump in the middle of the dam.
As we are moving, I took all of the feeders and the fruit tray down and now in our last days we are feeding from one of our big dinner plates! The Mousebird doesn't seem to mind!
Then the Loeries and a Pigeon arrived and they all joined in the party!
Mr. Barbet also joined the party!
And the rest of the Loerie family also joined in!
Yes indeed, there's a dark and wet cloud in our minds as we are leaving all of these trusted companions behind, but we console ourselves with the thought that there is much human need in the province that we are moving to.
They have pleaded for the Papillon Foundation's charity services for a long time and we have now decided to once again answer the call.
Bear in mind that we started Papillon with nothing in 2002 and we have built up an amazing record of successes over the past 17 years in Johannesburg, and now, this time we are ready for the action as we have some solid experience behind our backs. Bringing new hope to lost children hooked on drugs, helping un-employed youth with accredited IT skills, adult women with small business skills and of course the elderly with their personal needs.
A Luta Continua!
