Some of the residents came out to greet us as we arrived.
Yellows and browns form a kaleidoscope of colors during the Autumn season.
Such a pleasure to see how the landscapes change and especially when some mist is added on a wet day. I will take you on a visit in here to one of our prestigious wine estates in order to share some views that I am sure will also please your eyes.
So without further ado, lets go and see what we will find out there.
Just a lovely view of the mountain today.
Yep! The mist surely adds beauty to the show.
Some of my favorite ponds during Summer, as there are all kinds of butterflies and dragonflies. Always very busy at these ponds.
A floating armada of fallen leaves.
And yet, there is still some green to be seen below the yellows.
I think I told you that it is a wet day.
The ground is soft and the Olive Thrush found a great lunch.
This is one of the restaurants nestled below the mountain, and we often have coffee here.
Just a closer look.
Like always, eventually the dark started to settle in and this Bulbul sat at the top of a tree.
I love the sunsets on rainy days because they are so dramatic.
So yes, we are a bit limited by the wet conditions, but there is always beauty to be found. I am a nature junkie and as I have explained before, we go out every day during the power cuts. Most of the places have generators to supply their own power during the power cut periods, and it is costing them a fortune for diesel. But they cannot operate without power, and many other smaller businesses cannot afford to buy generators, so they simply shut down shop during the power cuts. A real mess.
But life goes on.
I took the photos at the Lourensford Wine Estate and if you visit the Western Cape Province of South Africa, put this farm on your list of places to see.
