I could immediately notice that something was wrong with him!
Most of the residences, complexes and flats in our city suburbs are surrounded by high walls and many have electrical fences placed on top of the walls as an extra measure to deter criminals. The fences can consist of between 5 to 8 wires that are spaced at 150 millimeter intervals and these wires are then connected to a transformer inside the property. They certainly deliver a nasty shock when touched!
But what is the effect of the fences on animals?
He is not going to give us time to place the fruit in the tray, as he shouts that he is hungry!
But what is wrong with the bird? See if you can see what I saw!

She has become a permanent resident, as she will never fly again.
I have seen the damages in many birds and even once helped a bird that was trapped between two of the wires on an electrical fence! This is the price that they have to pay for our security! So that we can sleep safe and unharmed at night!
I understand the urgent need to keep our families safe and I am not saying we have to take the fences down, or make things any easier for the criminals, but surely a warning system for birds and animals can be developed?
An audio sound to be passed through the wires? I have noticed that whenever there is a short in the wires, a loud cracking sound is made and the birds don't go near the area. The question is, why can't a similar, softer deterrent sound not be circulated through the wires! Something that is audible to birds and animals, but not to humans?
Any electronic engineers out there?
