& family have been away for a family wedding. The wedding was in Illinois and we had a 6 hour drive to attend. Yesterday I posted about our Friday dinner out at Authentic Mexican Restaurant here. Today I want to describe the wedding and share a few photo's.

Saturday Wedding
The day was oppressively HOT! And the wedding was held outdoors. But the spirit of celebration won the day and everyone had a wonderful time! The Venue was outside of the city in a farmers field. A huge Circus like tent was set up, and I just now am kicking myself for not getting a photo of the huge tent. Tables were everywhere with the food catered in and a bar next to it on one end of the Venue.

But first the wedding - we had second row seats, as family members, myself, Martha and our daughter Lesly. I chose seats on the end of the aisle, hoping to catch a breeze.
Flower girl Addison tossing flower petals
Thankfully the Ceremony was short, with the heat we all wanted to return to the shade of the tent. Probably the most entertaining thing, besides the bride & groom, was the flower girl. She would throw the flower petals in the air, three or four times - then pick them all up, and do it again. Over and over she did this, and kept everyone smiling. I caught an excellent photo of the cute flower girl in action, see above. Later after the wonderful meal, I was able to meet the cute flower girl, and her name is Addison.

It was wonderful catching up with family, some we have not seen for a few years. The meal itself was good as the buffet included chicken and roast pork. We even had champagne to toast with when the best man and bride's sister made splendid speeches. And of course the throwing of the flower bouquet by the bride and garter by the groom was fun as well.

In conclusion
It was a extremely fun day - in spite of the extreme heat. The wedding with Addison entertaining, exchanging greetings with many friends and family, warm conversations with loved ones, a awesome meal, a little bubbly. Yes, a good time was had by all!!
Biblical marriage verse
Mark 10:6-8 (NIV)
“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh.
