예술가의 혼이 깃든 SOHO 그리고 일상
안녕하세요^^ 
어제에 이어서 2012년 NYC(New York City)의 모습과 기억을 같이 공유해 보고자 합니다^^

I would like to share my memories with NYC in 2012 following yesterday ^^
오늘 소개해 드릴 지역은 NYC ‘SOHO’ 지역이에요.
‘SOHO’라는 이름은 ‘휴스턴 가의 남쪽(SOuth of HOuston Street)’에서 따왔으며, 런던의 소호를 흉내낸 이름이기도 하답니다.
Today, I would like to introduce you is SOHO region.
The name 'SOHO' comes from the SOuth of HOuston Street and is also oriented by Soho in London.
(보시면 지도 왼쪽 위에는 설리 기장이 Ditching[수면착륙] 한 ‘허드슨 강’이 보이고, 오른쪽 위로는 우리가 잘 아는 ‘할렘’, 그리고 가운데는 ‘센트럴 파크’가 있는 것이 보이실 거에요^^)
(You can see the 'Hudson River' on the left top of the map, is famous for Captain Sully ditched. and 'Harlem' on the upper right, The Central Park in the middle as you can see.)
SOHO 지구는 원래 패션과 예술의 거리로 잘 알려져 있는데, 예전에는 본래 공장과 창고가 많았던 곳이었습니다. 그러나 미국의 대공황 이후 수많은 공장과 창고가 도산/폐업되면서 거리는 서서히 황폐해졌지요.
건물과 땅값이 떨어지고 심지어는 주인없는 공간이 많아지면서 가난한 예술가들이 하나, 둘 자연스럽게 이 지역에 모이면서 SOHO의 역사는 시작되었습니다.
유입된 아티스트들이 그들 고유의 예술 활동이 활발해 지면서 SOHO는 감각 있는 젊은 예술가들의 갤러리와 개성 넘치는 가게들이 차츰 생겨나면서 지금의 모습을 갖추어 나아갔지요.
그러나 이렇게 이 지역이 뜨게 되자 건물주 들은 너나 할것없이 임대료를 올리게 되고 감당할 여력이 되지않는 젊은 예술가들은 하나 둘 떠나가고 있답니다. 떠나간 그 빈자리는 샤넬, 프라다 등의 명품 브랜드 숍과 고급 레스토랑이 차지하면서 SOHO는 변해가고 있는 중이랍니다.
The SOHO district was known for its fashion and artistic streets. But Some decades before, there were many factories and warehouses. However, after the Great Depression of the United States, many factories and warehouses have been bankrupted / abolished, and the streets have gradually been devastated.
As buildings and land prices have fallen and even some spaces has become unowned, Poor artists have naturally gathered in this area for having their own space. SOHO's history has begun from that moment.
As a result of the influx of artists' artistic activities, SOHO has become more and more like a gallery of young artists and a shop full of individuality.
However, when this area comes up, the landlords would raise the rental fee, and the young artists who can not afford to pay it are leaving that area. SOHO is changing as the vacancy that has left is occupied by luxury brand shops such as Chanel, Prada and High-end restaurants.
어떤가요? 제가 사진으로 보여드린 것 뿐만 아니라 거닐다 보면 보이는 모든 것들이 감수성을 자극하고 그들의 예술가로써의 혼이 여실히 보이는 흔적이 곳곳에 알음알음 서려 있답니다.
그냥 하나의 도시가 ‘예술 작품창고’ 라는 생각이 들었습니다. 그 아우라를 통해 느낀 느낌이 아직도 선선하네요.
배우 ‘하정우’ 씨도 SOHO 지구에서 작품 전시회를 열었었습니다. 연기 못지 않게 작품 또한 수준급이셨습니다. 작품 하나하나 디테일이 살아있음이 느껴지더군요.
How about those Pics? Not only that I have shown them in the photographs, but when I walk around, all the things that are visible things stimulating my sensibility and there are many traces of the soul as an artist.
I just thought that SOHO is a 'warehouse of art'. The feeling that I felt through those aura is still fantastic.
Actor "Jung-Woo Ha" also held an art exhibition in the SOHO district. The work was as good as acting too. I could feel aliveness of detail in those art works
SOHO 지구 인근 마트 또한 들려 보았습니다. 저는 마트에 진열되어 있는 이 모든 것들이 어쩜 이렇게도 이쁘고 아기자기한지... 한번 같이 보실까요?
I also hung around Groceries near the SOHO district. I wonder how all these things on display are so beautiful and cute! Would you see it together?
보이시는가요? 사탕속에 전갈, 벌레 등 온갖 특이한 곤충 및 다지류를 집어넣은 막대 사탕을 팔고 있었습니다. 저도 정말 먹어보고 싶었습니다만, 고혈압과 당뇨의 압박으로 참았답니다.
See? Inside the candy, They were selling lollipops containing scorpions, insects, and all kinds of peculiar insects. I really wanted to try it, but I was depressed by the pressure of hypertension and diabetes.
