Berlin Short trip, 5 Day stay - Day 2
Please find day 1 here.
Our second day, we decided we wanted to get out of the city (already? yes already!). It was a combination of good weather and us living in Amsterdam we kinda wanted to escape the city for a little bit. We decided to go to Potsdam, the place where the Prussian royal family lived. As it was kinda big we thought it would be good to rent a bike, turned out this was the right call! For anyone going there, you can easily rent a bike pretty much everywhere - we did it on the train station.
As i'm a guy of course i did not need directions and immediately started peddling. In the wrong direction ofcourse. After 5 minutes i gave up and abused my work telephone (don't tell anyone, EU internet needs to be turned on for this) to find the way back. Starting in the right direction this time we found this cute tower, i wonder if Rapunzel still lives there.
Dutch quarter, some old Prussian king tried to get Dutch people to settle there, ofcourse not many dutchies lived there. What sane dutchy would live in Germany?! (For our German friends, i love you guys dont take me serious, you are bad at football though)
Some fake Roman buildings, Anno 1700-1800
In the distance you can see Charlottenhof, we will go there in a sec
Cool mill:
Charlottenhof
View from Charlottenhof:
Sanssouci (did not fit on my telephone camera)
Chinese teahouse
Potsdam itself, its cozy. This place also features the real Brandenburg tor (albeit a bit smaller).
We had some food in the street and went back to Berlin!
