Hey everyone. This will be an NFL Fantasy Football post. Week 3 still has the Monday Night game to be played, but that shouldn't stop you from looking ahead to week 4. By now, you should start to get a feeling of you fantasy team. You may be happy with your receivers, but may be lacking in running back depth. You want to start looking at your roster depth and be aware of upcoming bye weeks. Week 4 is the first week for the bye. If your player is on a bye week, they will not be playing that week so you need to bench that player and update your roster with an active player. Lets take a look at some potential players to pick up.
The big name for week 4 is going to be the back up running back for the NY Giants, Wayne Gallman. Saquon Barkley, one of the top drafted overall players, injured his ankle in Week 3's game. We are still waiting on MRI results, but it could be a high ankle sprain. High ankle sprains are not good news to fantasy owner's ears. This could be a 6-8 week recovery. That is a significant period of time to not be with your number 1 running back. Gallman does not come close to the talent level as Barkley, so don't expect the same numbers as Barkley. Barkley is a generational talent. The good news for Gallman is that he will be the workhorse for the Giants and the fact that QB Daniel Jones looked good filling in for the Giants benched QB Eli Manning.
In the Wide Receiver position we have DJ Chark from the Jaguars. Blake Bortles used to be the quarterback for the Jaguars. While he was slinging the pig skin, DJ Chark did not have a touchdown or a game over 68 yards in 10 games last year. This year, Chark has a touchdown every week and one game over 100 yards. He has been in at least 70 percents of snaps and seems to really be involved in the offense this year. Chark can be a good WR to grab and play for bye week receivers or even as a hold on the bench position.
For the Quarterback position we have another Giant's player...Daniel Jones. Jones played an amazing game in his debut. I'm not sure how many fantasy owners started him, but if you did, you had an amazing stat line. Jones came through with 336 yards and four total touchdowns, and won the game. 2 of those TD's were rushing TDs. Talk about some debut. With the injury to Barkely, the Giants are going to have to rely on their passing game. This could be Jone's time to shine. I see him being a popular add in the QB position.
And finally the Tight End position. Atlanta's TE, Austin Hooper has looked great this season. He has been seeing great volume this year. He has at least 6 targets and 4 catches in each of his 3 games this season. On Sunday he put up 66 yards and two red zone touchdowns against the Colts. The Falcons are weak in their rushing touchdown offense, so they will rely on their passing game. Matt Ryan likes looking for his TE's in the end zone, so this should favor Hooper. The depth in TE is lacking so you may want to grab Hooper before he is taken.
Well there you have it. Hopefully you had a good week in fantasy. If you lost, the season is still early and with the right moves you can truly improve your roster. This is the point of the season to work on your weaker positions. Don't be afraid to spend some FAAB if you need longer term help. Good luck to everyone in Week 4.
