My Week Of Thoughts - Day 6 - Should we celebrate milestones? A lit...

Finally I got some connection to post though it is really bad.. so I hope I am able to post this by the time I am done writing it ..hahaha .. I'm currently on the south of Argentina , on the surroundings of Bariloche on some sort of tour , which actually feels a lot like vacation :D . I'll be playing a couple venues around here but in the meantime I get to enjoy some nature and be a bit of a tourist :P

I can get used to this .. no problem :D

I have never been too much of a fan of celebrating milestones as I sometimes feel like it's like putting a ''stop'' and an ''I made it'' sign on front of myself and I've always been a person who just likes to keep moving.. I think I am slowly learning to stop and enjoy a little more , as life in general is not a race and there is not really a place to arrive but more of what we make of the journey.

I only think I did another milestone post in my whole time on Steemit and it was also while being outside of the city , while I was taking some time off in Ecuador .. It seems that traveling outside of my usual routine lets me freshen up and stop to ''enjoy the view'' a bit better.

So , getting out of my ''comfort zone'' , here's my milestone:

- I have now participated 46 times on the Steemit Open Mic Contest!

It's a crazy number for me ! Thinking of how I was so reluctant to participate the very first time because I though no one would care about any one of my songs , I entered because Hive account@meno insisted over and over .. so I just went for it .. to my surprise at the very next day I saw I had gotten a $100 + Hive account@curie upvote and flooded with supportive and welcoming comments .. I was completely mind-blown! One of the very first ones that commented on my music was Hive account@passion-ground who wasn't even a judge at that time , that incentive kicked me to try for a 2nd entry and so on ... I'm still here ..46 entries later .. it's crazy for me at all levels. Also it kicked my desire to record an album.. which is finally on it's last stages.. So I can really say both the Hive account@openmic family and Hive account@curie changed my whole direction as an artist and musician .. so , I can only give them my most sincere and biggest thank you! from the heart.

When I reached 21 entries I did the first Open Mic milestone and I shared my story a bit better :

Also , my last open mic entry "El Molino'' won first place! though I never entered to ''fight for the prize'' I am so honored I got this recognition and also it happened on the 2-year anniversary of the Open Mic! So ... I'm happy :) .. Life is good! The contest has kept me practicing and trying new things and I can really see a different artist 46 entries later.. so I can only thank you for that and.. well... I hope at some point I am writing another milestone post like this one :D
