Greetings, everyone!
I want to share a story of this beautiful family with you. I met this man in Eket when I went to visit his mother and helped her with house chores and farm work. I used to call him brother Victor. He was a young lecturer in polytechnic. By then, he was living a horrible lifestyle that I didn't like, and the mother didn't like either.
He was a deep womanizer, I mean. He will never bypass a beautiful lady, whether you are big or small, he will get what he wants and go his way. In my mind, I had already seen him as a young man who had no future and was releasing sperm all the time,, and how he would build his own family. Would the remaining sperm be enough to reproduce? If I were a fully grown woman to the age of marriage and he came to me to ask my hand in marriage, I wouldn't have let my hand, because I had seen the type of life he lived and I was afraid that he had a disease or infection. Not knowing I was thinking as a human but God was in a whole situation waiting for the appointed time to come for change to emerge. When a man is in Christ, old things have passed away; now he has become a new creature in the hands of God.
One fateful day, I was scrolling on Facebook, and I saw his picture with a young lady and a baby boy. I stopped. I opened his profile, went through it, to know if he got married legally to the lady.
Behold, I saw a wedding card, pre-wedding photos with this lady. I was shocked. I knelt down and thanked God for changing this man into a married man with a child.
Another year goes by. Still on Facebook, I saw another photo with his wife and two male children. I was like God! I dropped him a text. Congratulating him and his new family on building.
Early this morning, after I had finished reading my Bible, sleep took me off. I woke up again to Facebook, and I saw this morning on his profile with his wife and three children, two grown-up boys and a newborn baby girl.
I chatted him up and thanked God for his family. When you have God, you will have life in abundant and it will be seen in reality.
I still thank God for him and God is merciful and kind to His children.
I read this morning how God told the Pharisees that he came for the sinners, not for the good people. He showed compassion and mercy to those. Reading down, I saw he doesn't judge people the way the world judges. This is so amazing for who God is to men.
We might be thinking that the person doesn't deserve the mercy of God, but in the agenda of God, He showed mercy to whom He wanted to show mercy.
Kai, this God is too good. He doesn't act the way the world wants him to act. He does His thing at His own time, not the timing of men but His.
I remember, when we used to sing: " when Jesus is in the family, happy happy o". So sweet to know Jesus Christ.
Be a different species from the Lord.
God is so faithful and kind.
Thank you for reading through.
