Hello everyone. It's been quite a while since I last posted here. However I'm back now and would like to participate in the monthly contest which is all about sports. I must admit sports is one thing that we humans need to keep in shape. It also helps us remain agile, competitive and have good and healthy team relationship with people.
I can't help but think of lots of things to create for this monthly contest. To begin, today I want to share with you all how I made this mini soccer ball using just cardboard paper. I wouldn't lie to you and say it was easy. The steps may look simple and short but it took a lot of effort.
Some of the Materials I used in making this include;
- Strong cardboard
- Scissors
- Pencil
- A compass
- Strong gum or glue.
Let's begin....
PROCEDURES
- Firstly, I started by drawing a faint circle using my pencil and compass.
- Then I drew a straight line through the mid point of the circle. After which, I drew two arcs to cut through the middle. One arc facing down and the other facing up. Then using my ruler I connected the points together in such a way that it gave me a hexagon.
- Once you've made sure that you're on track, go ahead and cut out the hexagon.
- Do the same with a slightly smaller circle. And remove the thin layer of the cardboard so that it looks like this
- Now, make multiple copies of the two hexagon above. We need as many to fill in the ball.
- Using your glum, glue the edges of the hexagon to one side of another hexagon. Continue this process untill you see your base taking shape.
- Gradually,the ball takes full circular shape as you continue gluing one hexagon to another.
