The bible allows us to remarry after our wife or husband dies. The bond of marriage ends immediately either the wife or husband dies. In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul explained that a widow or widower is free to marry again after the death of their spouse, especially if the new marriage honors God and is built on faith, love, and commitment. Christians are encouraged to seek wisdom and God’s guidance before entering another marriage.
The Bible also shows compassion to those who lose their spouse. God understands loneliness, grief, and the need for companionship. Remarrying after the death of a spouse is not considered a sin in the Bible. Instead, it is seen as a personal decision that should be made prayerfully and with a sincere heart.
“A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 7:39.
