We had the pleasure of
attending the Loy Krathong
Festival at a university in
Bangkok. The campus came
alive with colorful decorations,
lively music, and joyful laughter
from students and visitors
alike. The event beautifully
captured the spirit of Thai
culture, blending traditional
charm with youthful creativity.

Students had set up a variety
of booths featuring games,
handmade crafts, and cultural
activities. One of the highlights
was the candle flowers called
krathongs, which are beautifully
crafted floating offerings.
Visitors were invited to gently place
their krathongs onto the
university's serene pond,
symbolizing an apology to the
Goddess of Water for using her
resources throughout the year.
Watching the tiny lights drift
gracefully across the water
was a truly peaceful and
reflective moment.

This year's celebration once
again reminded me of how Loy
Krathong is not only a cultural
tradition but also a meaningful
expression of gratitude and
renewal. Surrounded by the
glow of candlelight and the
sound of laughter, I felt a deep
appreciation for Thailand's rich
heritage and the sense of
community it brings.

Adding a modern twist to the
celebration, there was also a
Halloween-themed haunted
house booth for those who
sought a thrilling challenge.
The spooky decorations,
creative costumes, and playful
scares provided an exciting
contrast to the serene beauty
of the Loy Krathong tradition,
making the festival even more
dynamic and enjoyable.

The festival grounds were also
filled with the delightful aroma
of street food. Numerous stalls
served everything from classic
Thai snacks to refreshing
drinks, creating a warm and
festive atmosphere where
everyone could relax and enjoy
the evening.

A particularly captivating
moment of the night was the
traditional Thai music
performance by students,
featuring classical instruments
such as the dulcimer and saw duang
(fiddle). The graceful melodies
filled the air with the unique
sounds of Thailand.

🪷Happy Loy Krathong and see you again next trip.:3
