The MSM is full of doom and gloom again, telling us it's two minutes to midnight and Commander Apricot is going to blow the world to bits because he runs at the mouth. So I thought it was time to add to #thegoodnews !
Good News Story #1:
A rapper and his friends in the UK removed the anti-homeless bars on a bench, and converted them into a shelter instead with a tarp over it! I love that direct action. The anti-homeless bars and spikes are the most cruel and inhumane thing. He made it helpful instead of harmful!
Good News Story #2:
This lady here in Denver has done this event for three years in honor of her father, who was homeless and died of hypothermia: Take This And Keep Warm. Year three was this past November. People hang warm things like sweaters, scarves, jackets, hats, and shoes, in the trees in Civic Center Park (which is where a lot of homeless folks hang out) with notes on them saying to take this, and keep warm.

A Little Something You Can Do:
If you use Fresh Step Litter for your kitties, you can donate the "paw points" to help shelters get free cat litter! Specifically I found out about this because Blind Cat Rescue, who provides a permanent home to blind, FIV+ and FELV+ kitties, collects and can certainly use the help: according to the most recent post on Facebook, they use 70+ boxes of litter per month!
