Hi Steemers!
I recently took a trip to Merida that I would like to tell you more about in my today´s post. But let me start out by explaining what Merida I am actually talking about. In fact, there are many Meridas all over the world with the most famous ones being in Spain, Venezuela, the Philippines and Mexico. The one that I visited is in Mexico and with a population of almost 1 million, it is also the biggest Merida in the world.
Another cool thing about this Merida is the fact that it has the largest Mayan community in all Mexico - about 60% of local inhabitants are of Mayan origin.
The city is also famous for beautiful colonial architecture and, despite the enormous heat, I really enjoyed wandering the old streets lined with colorful houses dating back to centuries ago. Here is a shot I took on one of those streets.
It is also my today´s entry for the #streetphotography contest organized by and
.
Thank you for visiting my blog and voting for me in the contest :) Have a great Friday and see you in my next post!
