The Glawackus is one of the only fearsome critters who may have left evidence behind. In early 1939 a creature of unknown origin terrorized Connecticut. Because locals could not identify what was killing livestock and pets, the legend of the Glawackus was born.
The Glawackus is said to be a creature of ambiguous appearance, with features of a bear, dog, panther, and lion. The tracks of the Glawackus resemble that of a puma and is known to cackle and shriek like a hyena in the moonlight. Legend states that looking into the eyes of a Glawackus will leave you bereft of memory.
Although some people refer to the Glawackus as the Northern Devil Cat, people as far as Colorado are said to have seen the creature.
