German company Volkswagen found by Adolf Hitler and German labor front has been struggling for a long time now. Company has spent more than $7 billion to buy back its diesel based cars due to court filing against the company for causing global emissions. More than 350,000 cars have been brought back ever since but the number will be increasing as the buyback offer run until the end of 2019. VW has been ordered to buy back 85% of its vehicles i.e. approximately 500,000 in numbers before mid 2019 and fix the problems caused.
So far, Company has resold 13,000 and destroyed more than 25,000 vehicles. VW has stored almost 300,000 vehicles till now. The location for parking the car include a former Minnesota paper mill , a sun-bleached desert graveyard near Victorville, California and even a stadium known as Suburban Detroit football stadium with 34 more spaces. Even though the number is huge but the company ensures that there would be no compromise on quality of even a single vehicle parked in the graveyards. Volkswagen’s spokeswoman Jeannine Ginivan explains the situation by saying “These vehicles are being stored on an interim basis and routinely maintained in a manner to ensure their long-term operability and quality, so that they may be returned to commerce or exported once U.S. regulators approve appropriate emissions modifications”.
