Buenos días, para este post y propicios de las festividades navideñas en la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, les presento un video.fotográfico de la fiesta de los Pastores de San Joaquín del estado Carabobo.
Este trabajo es producto de la investigación del grupo musical Canto del Pueblo en el año 1980
Tradición para celebrar el nacimiento del niño Jesús, donde escénifican una semblanza teatral,musical y coreográfica el día 25 de diciembre de cada año.
Músicos con sus cuatros, charrascas, maracas, furruco y tambor, entonan tres tipos de cantos: versos al niño, para dar ofrenda al niño, el aguinaldo (el levante) donde se van preparando pastores y partorcillas y el villano para realizar diversas figuras coreográficas.
Los personajes son: Pastores, hombres disfrazados con cintas, cascabeles y sombreros, llevando un instumento, llamado Gajillo; Pastorcillas, hombre disfrazados de mujeres, con faldas y sombreros con crinejas, llevando una maraca; el cachero, llevando unos cachos o cuernos, que representa el buey y va dirigiendo la danza; una niña, representando al Ángel Gabriel, el estrellero, hombre que lleva una estrella; el ovejo y el titirijí; el viejo y la vieja, para darle jococidad a la fiesta.
Good morning! For this post, and in honor of the Christmas festivities in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, I present a video/photographic record of the Shepherds' Festival of San Joaquín in the state of Carabobo.
This work is the product of research conducted by the musical group Canto del Pueblo in 1980.
It is a tradition to celebrate the birth of the Christ Child, where they perform a theatrical, musical, and choreographic representation on December 25th of each year.
Musicians with their cuatros, charrascas, maracas, furruco, and drum, sing three types of songs: verses to the Christ Child, to offer gifts to the child; the aguinaldo (the "levanta"), where shepherds and shepherdesses prepare themselves; and the "villano," to perform various choreographic figures.
The characters are: Shepherds, men disguised with ribbons, bells, and hats, carrying an instrument called a "gajillo"; Shepherdesses, men dressed as women, with skirts and hats with braids, carrying a maraca; the cachero, carrying horns or antlers, who represents the ox and directs the dance; a girl, representing the Angel Gabriel, the estrellero, a man who carries a star; the sheep and the titirijí; the old man and the old woman, to give humor to the party.
