Ahoy, ahoy, good day peeps, hows it going?
As I promised, I made another art today with water color. Today's subject is a more interesting one, its still a bird but crossed with a dragon. That is right folks, your man Dmitri here is now drawing a mythical beast(I did anime before so why not a dragon right?). Its like I used polymerization(its a card from the card game Yugioh) to fuse two monsters that I love so dearly.
What do you guys think of this piece? I like it...
Dragon x Bird= Gryphon? This one doesn't even have a beak...
I focused more on applying making feathers in this piece. First thing I did is do the rough draft, I just skipped the whole process of drawing it because it will make my post very long if I do. And I wanted to focus on the water color...
I picked three colors and made three tones(like I said yesterday) and added them in my palette. For this piece, I liked to have a color around the blue and gray color so I picked blue, black and white respectively.
I started from the neck with one of my toned blue gray.
Then went with working into the body(sexy body).
I now made the feathers with the flat brush, I did it by swiping the flat brush sideways from it's flat tip.
Dryed the first color then applied a darker tone for the feathers, same thing here with the brush, only used a darker color.
Added feathers on the chest.
I then made some fire effects on the eyes with a bullet tip brush.
And applied pink fire effects on it's hair. Now, is it me or this dragon just looks gay now with those pink fires. XD. Love you guys at the LGBT community. Peace!
I attempted to add more details with black paint on the face.
But the attempt was a fail that I had to scrape the paint and made it into a plate mask instead.
Added chains on it's face plate.Added a ring on the face plate.
Added highlights on the mane with black color
Then added feathers on the back of this dragon.
Almost done here.
Added more blacks.
And more colors to the body.
There we have it, my dragon x bird painting... Looks cool huh? Next time I might try markers or charcoal...
Maybe acrylic...
That's it for this post today! Thank you for at least browsing! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
