Rizzy is back on Twitter and says that his family spread quite a bit of chaos after accessing his account. The harassers did not have his address but threatened to Photoshop an image to blackmail him. He retweeted it thinking that it was a joke, but was told to delete the retweet after being told the potential consequences of the "joke" by his family. Paranoid about these consequences, he ingested insecticide and soapy water. He had gastric lavage (stomach pumping) done, but didn't suffer any severe organ damage.
Accusations of scamming have run rampant after Rizzy had informed his followers of the incident. One of these accusations said that he did not speak fluent English, but used Google Translate. Seeing that his family members used his account, they were the ones who used Google Translate, not Rizzy. The slight deviations in their accounts (what it is that he took, what was done to Rizzy), and the fact that none of them were thinking clearly at the time are solid evidence that Rizzy is not lying or scamming.
Indonesia does not have Sharia law (a misconception that was floating around because of Rizzy's comic and because of people sucking at global politics in general), but it does have religious mobs that threaten the safety of people like Rizzy. These mobs have been known to beat up non-Muslims for eating during Ramadan, target Christians, and even go after people for walking their dogs. In the past, Rizzy has threatened suicide because of paranoia about these religious mobs going after him.
