- Water Melons: Watermelons are the perfect fruits for summer. They are the most hydrating fruits of all, with minimal calories! It helps replenish the fluids the body loses in the summertime. It’s a must have either during lunch, or you can take it as a separate meal after breakfast and before lunch. It is recommended that you eat the fruit instead of taking its juice, because it is much more nutritious in its original form, and of course, tastier and fun to eat.
- Coconut Water: For school and college-going students, coconut water is a saviour during the hot summer days. Between continuous tuitions and classes, travelling takes away all the energy from the body. A glass of coconut water gives an instant energy boost and also hydrates your body.
- Cucumbers: If there were an award for the favourite salad, it would go to Cucumber, without a doubt. This little green ‘kakdi’ (local name) has an amazing taste with pepper sprinkled on it and has high water content, to make the hot summers bearable.

There’s even a better way to consume these vegetables if your taste buds don’t like them much. Try making smoothies!
- Yoghurt (Curd): Yogurt keeps your body temperature down, and also helps in digestion of foods during summer. Mix some berries in it, you’ll thank me later!
