TWIN STARS
a poem in response to the weekly prompt "Til Death Do Us Part"
Alone
we are dust, vapor,
space... surrounds
and pours through us
dim glow in fathomless vacuum
more black than light
more empty than full
more nowhere than there
Together
we pull at each other
tease the bits
inhale the vapor
I make you less
you make me less
you make me more
I make you more
what was me is you
what was you is us
Between
your star and mine
glowing transit of essence
knitting the gap with
whirl of you
whirl of me
Light that is we
Within
the dust and vapor
of me of you
is you is me
forever
as I glow you glow
Without
we, even, there is still
you in me
me in you
never to part until
space swallows our glow
and you vanish
and I vanish
only then
both empty nowhere
