In this generation, many young people silently carry heavy burdens likepressure from school, broken homes, identity struggles and even fear of the future.
However, the Bible reminds us in Psalm 34:18 that “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit",this shows that God does not ignore pain especially the silent struggles of young hearts.
Teens and young adults need to be reminded that they are not forgotten by God even when life feels dark.
Parents and guardians must also learn to listen and not just talk. Sometimes, a depressed teen is not looking for correction but for understanding. Just like Jesus showed compassion to the weary, we must create a safe space where teens can speak freely without fear of judgment, encouraging them with prayer and sharing God’s word can also bring light into their lives.
However, faith should not replace practical help. Helping them to seek guidance from counselors, pastors or trusted mentors is also important.
Dealing with depressed teens requires love, patience and faith. With God at the center and a caring support system, healing can begin and hope can be restored to their lives.
