We live in a world where everyone desires to be great; many are eager for secrets of greatness with only few willing to commit themselves to walking in its reality.
One essential thing you must develop for greatness is CHARACTER. Character and greatness work together. You cannot be great, according to God's principle, without developing godly character. I will like to show this with the lives of three bible characters: Isaac, Joseph and Daniel.
Both riches and honour come from You. And You reign over all. And in Your hand is power and might. And in Your hand it is to make great and give strength to all. (1 Chronicles 29:12)
In Genesis 26:1-3, 12-13 Isaac was instructed by God to remain in Gerar. He did not only obey God, but he trusted Him and worked (planted crops) in that land, despite the famine. He reaped a hundred fold, and became great, until he became exceedingly great. The right character made him famous.
Joseph, (Genesis 39:1-4,7-9; 41:38) despite being hated by his brothers and sold into slavery, kept his integrity, because he feared God. His conviction in the face of inescapable imprisonment: How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? (Genesis 39:9), really endeared him to God, in preparation for the throne. For Brother Joseph, Character was the key word.
Daniel, (Daniel 1:3-8; 6:1-3), though a captive in that strange and ungodly land, refused to defile himself with the royal food and wine, despite being privileged to be in the royal family. His character took him to the top.
These three men became great in their own time, because they cooperated with God in following God's principle of greatness. They all developed godly character and were made great. Do you care to be like them?
Your spirituality is made manifest by your character. Develop the right character and you are on your way to pleasing God.
Have a glorious day.
