This is not a photo! It is rather a carefully and patiently done pencil drawing in a genre of art called Hyperrealism. I made my first post about Hyperrealism yesterday and I'd love to share this very related drawing that I did recently with you; by the way, thank you all for your upvotes and beautiful comments on that post. If you're still not familiar with the term "Hyperrealism", click the link below to see my last post. I gave an insight on what the term means and also listed out some materials I use to achieve such photo like drawings.
Hyperrealistic drawing of a typical African Woman
Art is my hobby as well as my profession. Honestly I mostly enjoy doing it as an hobby, drawing what really appeals to me and expressing myself without bounds. This drawing however was done as a profession, I was commissioned by friends and family of the woman in the picture as a gift for her birthday. As a little fun exercise, I would like you to find her age hidden in the background of the drawing.
As I also love to do, I'd like to share a few progress shots I took while doing this drawing with you.
Progress shot 1: little work on the head gear
Progress shot 2: completed the head gear
Progress shot 3: started working on the face
Progress shot 4: finished the face and clothing
The final shot: added a beautiful background
Then I got it nicely framed up; framing always adds extra beauty and form to art.
