Hello my dear friends, followers and guests of my blog!
Today, I suggest a little understanding of the secrets of drawing with colored pencils.
Recently, I have a set of wonderful pencils Polychromos from the manufacturer Faber Castell and now mostly I draw with these pencils.
Today I want to depart a little from the fish theme and the image of yachts and boats and turn to botany. I want to present you this kind of work - poppies in the technique of drawing with colored pencils:
For all the apparent complexity, this picture is quite easy to draw. It will take only a little patience to work out the details and quality colored pencils that overlap well with the layers.
I drew this picture on kraft paper. Recently, I became a fan of the craft, I like this neutral-quiet tone. But also ordinary paper for drawing is quite suitable.
The process step-by-step
Begin drawing from the composition, determine the location of the main buds:
Next we must decide which areas of the petals will be in the light, and which in the shade. I started with light areas:
I add colors. Petals will turn out beautiful if you bring in different colors.
My bright parts of the petals I made yellow. Hence, in the light of the petals will be mostly warm tones, and in the shadows - cold. I type the color of the petals:
Having decided with the petals, with the shadows and curves of the shape, I turn to the detailing in the middle of the flowers. In the poppies, the bases of the petals are black.
I add a black color (and a dark indigo, very much I love this colour).
This will be the darkest place in the work.
Now you can "dig deeper" in detail and highlight the lightest parts:
Cold red you can deepen the shadows in the petals of flowers. Further we pass to the leaves.
Since I do not have a goal to make a botanical illustration or as close to nature as possible, and since the flowers themselves have been worked out quite painstakingly, I will make the leaves in a more flat manner, with spots.
I think the beauty of the shape and color of the flowers will be better emphasized on flat leaves.
In the leaves I alternate warm and cold shades of green.
I add a background, I draw stamens with a white gel pen.
Everything, the picture is ready!
I hope you like it!
