Greetings, dear friends of the Lifestyle Community.
It is truly a pleasure to write to you, inspired by the post of our friend 
A few days ago, I lived an experience from afar that touched me deeply. Even though I am in Cuba and my cousin is in Puerto Rico, she described to me in such detail what happened at ComicCon that I felt as if I had been there myself, walking through the colorful and creative halls, alongside my nephew and a group of children.
She painted a vivid picture: costumes that looked like they had stepped out of a dream, sculptures that sparked imagination, and artists sharing their talent with enthusiasm. The children were fascinated, their eyes shining, asking how they could create something like that. That curiosity was the clearest proof that they are in that wonderful age specialists call the window of opportunity: the moment when learning something new is not only easier, but it also becomes a memory that lasts forever.
In art, that window is magical. What children see and experience in spaces like ComicCon becomes creative imprints that will accompany them throughout their lives. As Carmina said about collage, in preschool cutting and pasting helps with motor skills; but later, when imagination expands, collage becomes an excellent medium to express ideas and emotions.
The same happens with languages, music, or sports: children learn with extraordinary ease. That is why it is so valuable to offer them experiences that take advantage of this stage, because later the path becomes more difficult.
Although I wasn’t physically at ComicCon, my cousin and nephew conveyed to me the joy of the children, and thanks to their stories I was able to live it as if I were there. I don’t have photos of them, but I do share images of this year’s event, which is celebrated with more beauty each time in Puerto Rico.
And beyond the costumes and the dazzling creativity, what struck me most was the atmosphere of discovery. ComicCon is not only about entertainment; it is a living classroom where children encounter art in its most diverse forms—illustration, sculpture, performance, and storytelling. Each booth and each artist becomes a teacher, showing them that imagination has no limits. That is why these experiences are so powerful: they plant seeds of curiosity that can grow into lifelong passions.

"La ventana de oportunidad en el arte y otras aptitudes"

Es un verdadero placer escribirles, inspirado en la publicación de nuestra amiga
Hace unos días viví, a la distancia, una experiencia que me marcó profundamente. Aunque estoy en Cuba y mi prima en Puerto Rico, me transmitió con tanto detalle lo que sucedió en el ComicCon que sentí como si hubiese estado allí, caminando entre los pasillos llenos de color y creatividad, acompañando a mi sobrino y a un grupo de pequeños.
Me describió un ambiente vibrante: disfraces que parecían salidos de un sueño, esculturas que despertaban la imaginación y artistas que compartían su talento con entusiasmo. Los niños estaban fascinados, con los ojos brillantes, preguntando cómo podían crear algo semejante. Esa curiosidad era la mejor prueba de que se encuentran en esa edad maravillosa que los especialistas llaman ventana de oportunidad: el momento en que aprender algo nuevo no solo es más fácil, sino que se graba en la memoria para siempre.
En el arte, esa ventana es mágica. Lo que los niños ven y experimentan en espacios como ComicCon se convierte en huellas creativas que los acompañarán toda la vida. Como bien decía Carmina sobre el collage, en la etapa preescolar recortar y pegar ayuda a la motricidad; pero más adelante, cuando la imaginación se expande, el collage se transforma en un medio excelente para expresar ideas y emociones.
Lo mismo ocurre con los idiomas, la música o el deporte: los niños aprenden con una facilidad extraordinaria. Por eso es tan valioso ofrecerles experiencias que aprovechen esa etapa, porque más adelante el camino se vuelve más difícil.
Aunque no estuve físicamente en el ComicCon, mi prima y mi sobrino me transmitieron la alegría de los pequeños, y gracias a sus relatos pude vivirlo como si estuviera allí. No tengo fotos de ellos, pero sí les comparto imágenes del evento de este año, que cada vez se celebra con más belleza en Puerto Rico.
Les recomiendo también leer la entrada de Carmina Entrar aquí porque su testimonio fue la chispa que me inspiró a escribirles hoy. Gracias a ella y gracias a ustedes, amigos, por acompañarme en estas vivencias que disfruté de manera vicariante, pero con el mismo entusiasmo.
