Reaching the Top of the Fortress
Hello everyone. On this occasion, I want to share some photos I captured during last weekend at the top of the ancient fortress known as Fortín Solano. This is an old Spanish structure located at the summit of a hill that crosses the city of Puerto Cabello. Getting here requires a steady walk up the trail, which I did with my friends. We spent the journey surrounded by vegetation, following the path until we reached the highest point.
Once at the top, we took several photos and enjoyed the fresh evening air. The temperature is noticeably cooler at this altitude, making it a perfect spot to take a break after the climb. Besides documenting the landscape, we took the opportunity to do some exercise. It is a common practice for us to use this environment for physical activity, as the space and the atmosphere are ideal for staying active.
I must admit that although I visit this place frequently—it is my favorite spot in the city—the view of Puerto Cabello, the sea, and the surrounding mountains impresses me every single time as if it were the first. There is something about the horizon and the ancient stone walls of the fortress that makes the effort of the ascent worth it.
The contrast between the historical ruins and the natural landscape of the coast provides a very specific calm. It was a good way to spend the morning, staying active while appreciating the local scenery. I decided to share these captures to show a bit of the environment we have here and how we spend our time when we head up to the hills.
Without anything more to add, I bid farewell. Stay tuned for future posts! Until next time!
