SEWING REPAIRS IN A GOOD PIECE OF CLOTHING [ENG/ESP]

A few days ago I made some sewing repairs to a pair of pants 😅 in an attempt to repair mistakes I made in the past due to lack of sewing knowledge 🙃, let me briefly tell you the story of this garment; In the past a few years ago, I inherited those pants from my father 😅 (after he died I kept the pants 😂) but they were a very large size "size 36" and I am a size 30, it was too wide for me. I dared to make several alterations, but I made several mistakes and when I put it on to see how it had turned out, the seams burst.

Hace unos días hice algunos arreglos de costura a un pantalón 😅 en un intento por reparar errores que yo mismo realice en el pasado por falta de conocimientos en costura 🙃, déjenme contarles brevemente la historia de esta prenda de vestir; en el pasado unos cuantos años atrás, ese pantalón lo heredé de mi padre 😅 (despues que se murió me quede con el pantalón 😂) pero era de una talla muy gran "talla 36" y yo soy talla 30, me quedaba demasiado ancho. Me atreví a hacerle varios arreglos, pero cometí varios errores y cuando me lo puse para ver como había quedado, se reventaron las costuras.

That's why after many years, a few days ago, with much more experience in sewing, I decided to repair those pants, to be able to use them, since I really like them the way they are; The first thing I had to repair are the trouser sleeves, since it is the most damaged.

Por eso despues de muchos años, hace unos días, con mucha mas experiencia en costura decidí reparar ese pantalón, para poder usarlo, ya que realmente me gusta como es; lo primero que tenía que reparar son las mangas del pantalón, ya que es lo mas dañado.

For a long time I had kept a piece of black cloth to make this repair, I don't know what the specific name of that type of cloth is, but to give you an idea, here in Venezuela the pants 👖 of the school uniform are of the same type cloth; I cut two triangular pieces that I will use to extend the diameter of the sleeve (I apologize for not having recorded the entire procedure in detail, I was concentrating on the sewing so that everything would fit well and many times I forgot to take the picture 😅).

Desde hace tiempo había guardado un trozo de tela negra para hacer esta reparación, no se cual es el nombre específico de ese tipo de tela, pero para que tengan una idea, aquí en Venezuela los pantalones 👖 del uniforme escolar son de ese mismo tipo de tela; corté dos pedazos triangulares que usare para extender el diámetro de la manga ( me disculpo por no haber registrado a detalle todo el procedimiento, estaba concentrado en la costura para que todo quedara bien y muchas veces se me olvidaba tomar la fotografía 😅).

One of the sleeves took me a lot of dedication, because I had to sew the piece of fabric to make the extension of the diameter, but I had to sew it together with a small piece of fabric that is part of the pants; It took me longer than I expected, but I managed to complete the challenge 😁.

Una de las manga me llevo bastante dedicación, porque tenía que coser el trozo de tela para hacer la extensión del diámetro, pero tenía que coserlo junto con un pedazo pequeño de tela que es parte del pantalón; me tomo mas tiempo de lo que esperaba, pero logré realizar el reto 😁.

When I went to try on the pants after adding the fabric extension, my foot still wouldn't go through the sleeve, I had to sew some zippers that I reused from two old cartridge belts to be able to put my foot through and then close the zipper 🙃.

Cuando me fuí a probar el pantalón luego de agregar la extensión de tela, todavía mí pie no pasaba por la manga, tuve que coserle unas cremalleras que reutilice de dos viejas cartucheras para poder pasar el pié y luego cerrar la cremallera 🙃.

Finally, I sewed a rectangular patch of fabric internally to hide a hole that the pants had in the crotch area; I also had to reinforce the seams of the two sleeves.

Por ultimo cosí internamente un parche de tela en forma rectangular para ocultar un orificio que tenía el pantalón en la zona del entre piernas; también tuve que reforzar las costuras de las dos mangas.

Despite the fact that I keep making mistakes in this area, I consider that this sewing repair fits me very well, I need more practice, but the improvement since the first time I had tried to fix these pants is very noticeable; In the last two years I have made improvements to some pieces of clothing that I have in my closet and now I have a little more experience.

Apesar de que sigo cometiendo errores en este ámbito considero que este arreglo de costura me quedo muy bien, me falta mas práctica, pero se nota mucho la mejora desde la primera vez que había intentado arreglar este pantalón; en estos dos últimos años he realizado mejoras en algunas piezas de vestir que tengo en el ropero y ya tengo un poco mas de experiencia.
