I have been watching the news about #Boracay. It is such a shame that it has gone bad. I have been there a couple of times. 20 or 22 years ago when my cousin got married there. Now he has 11 daughters, 12 if the one did not die as still born. His family or older brother has a resort there, #Boracay #Terraces at the farthest Station, I think Station 1? I am not sure. I have also gone there to attend conventions and the last time with my younger brother before he got married, He bought my mother with us and a few relatives last 2005.
Maybe they could do something else besides closing it down. It has been one of the most famous tourist attractions. They could probably implement stricter rules and bigger penalties for not following the rules. What will happen to the people, the employees of the resorts? Even the owners will be losing a lot of money.
My nephew, a singer/songwriter made this song to let the world know. His dad (my cousin RIP) was one of the first people who made #Boracay his second home and business and believed in it. If he were still alive I know he would also be one of the first to rally to stop the destruction of Boracay and find ways to improve Boracay.

Boracay sends out an SOS to the World!
Here are old photographs of Boracay since the 1970s with my original song ''Last Stand For Paradise'' as the soundtrack. The song features various Boracay artists and Boracay kids! Can you feel the Boracay soul in this video? Can you spot me and my parents in one of the old photographs?
The choral chant in the end is in Latin ''hodie mecum eris in paradiso'' translating to ''Today you will be with me in paradise''. Happy Easter Everyone!
Hello world,
Did you receive our message-in-a-bottle? Ever since our island home became a backpacker's paradise in the 70's/80's, the secret spread by word of mouth, we have welcomed each of you with open arms. From the first few backpackers back then, to the millions who now celebrate the beauty of Boracay on social media.
Sadly, just like countless other popular destinations around the world, Boracay hasn't been spared by the environmental and social plague that's threatening the planet.. The island joins the list of global hotspots under threat by mass tourism, along with Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Machu Pichu, Venice, Cairo, the beaches of Bali and Brazil, the islands of Thailand, to mention a few. While so many have cried and turned their backs on Boracay branding our island as a ''paradise lost'', we who remained here and call Boracay ''home'', have chosen to do our ''Last Stand for Paradise''.
You see, what's happening in Boracay reflects the bigger picture of the planet as whole. Giving up on Boracay is giving up on mother Earth. Boracay is more than just another tourist destination, more than just ''the crown jewel of the Philippines'', Boracay is a story. It has a history. It has a soul. Let the photographs in the video tell the story of an Island and the human beings who found a home-connection with Boracay, whether they were born and raised on the island, or have traveled from different corners of the globe to discover and fall in love with this once secret Paradise.
One LOVE For Paradise!
