According to new research, which tracked the rock space for the first time since 5 years ago, that asteroid, which will approach the Earth in October, will deviate from its path by 44 thousand kilometers.
The asteroid "2012 TC4" was discovered in 2012, by the observatory, Pan-Stars, in Hawaii.
The original observations revealed that the asteroid would pass near Earth on October 12, 2017.
However, astronomers have not been able to track the asteroid over the past five years due to its orbit
The asteroid is estimated to be 15 to 30 meters in size. If an asteroid of this magnitude enters the Earth's atmosphere, it will have the same effect as the Chelyabinsk meteorite crash on February 15, 2013, when it exploded in the air before colliding with land.
Chelyabinsk was the largest meteorite recorded since 1908, which resulted in more than a thousand injuries and extensive damage to the buildings of the region.
The new space object is expected to give NASA a great opportunity to test its planetary defense system and assess the ability of scientists to identify future threats.
Are you excited about this event :) ?
