Greetings!
I am excited about this week's contest as I have traveled extensively in the Pacific regions and really love the lifestyle there. Photography is not only a fun and beautiful creative outlet, but it is such a great way to share the world with others!
There is so much to learn about the "real world" by traveling outside of common tourist areas. I love to experience it first hand, meet the people, taste the food, and get into the local culture.
Gratitude to for hosting these contests, as it provides not only an outlet for photography but also a way to connect and share with new Steemians! Thanks to @boxcarblue for taking the time to judge this contest! Special thanks to
for sponsoring this contest, but even more so for the countless contributions he has made to the success of this community for a year now!
Let's get on with the photos!
While there are some big developed cities in the parts I visited, most of the cities and towns are still very similar to how they have been for a long time. It is still common to have handmade, human powered carts with fresh local food on the side of the streets. There are very few chain or corporate operations. There are not hardly even any stores with a sign or logo! It's just regular people making a living in simple ways. Family operations out of the home or on the front sidewalk are common as the families eat, sleep, and run business all together out of the same building.
This man's entire business here consists of just one handmade wooden cart which he pushes to the street and sets up every day, making just enough money to buy some food that is NOT bananas and keep him self moderately clothed.
Hope you all enjoy this photo and feel something from it.
I took this photo with a Canon T2i and used a 2.8 canon zoom lens.
As always, I welcome feedback and appreciate support!
SteemON!
