'MATING BIRDS' was the prompt this week, and Pigeons again come to resque me! I have a photo (s series of 6 photos to be presise) that match perfectly. Its a mating... and a very romantic one. Emotions are flowing all over the frame!
Below is uncropped version of the same photo.
A few words about this session. On October day back in 2007 (almost the same day when 'In Rainbows' LP was released, by the way) my wife and me were on a walk outside of the city, at Pavlovsk - Russian emperor's palace and the park residence. I was not into bird photography then, but I took our 70-300mm telephoto lens cause we planned to catch some squirrels (and luckily, we did! but I am not supposed to share squirrels in the feathered friends community, right?..) We walked, feeded squirrels, feeded some nice quirky tit, enjoyed all the dead leaves and the mist and the nature's dying mood... AND.
All of a sudden, we stumbled upon this pigeons pair - which were seriously taking care of each other. I even didnt use the 300mm focal length - all the shots done literally from hands distance (exif says it is 100mm). Isnt it sweet?!
The said small black-headed tit.
