PALnet keeps getting bigger, and as more minnows pour in, the balance between order and chaos starts to tip towards the latter. Having over 40 channels with ~4000 members (and counting), answering questions, helping with the bots, and keeping the clutter cleared is no easy task. Despite the descriptive channel names, bots that list the very simple rules upon entry, and no shortage of people willing to answer questions, it seems that even more mods are needed to keep peace and order.
I know some may only see MSP as an upvote bot, and not all of the ~4000 members there take advantage of the community that it brings, but once you have looked past the bots and experience the real individuals that make up the active users there, you see the very pulse of the steemit minnow community interacting in ways that are not really congruent on the steemit platform itself. This is the true value that it brings, and those pitiful souls who fail to realize this will be likely be trapped in cycle of mediocrity with only bot and F4F engagement on their posts.
I signed up to help minnows present their content over at #msp-workshop a week after I joined because I saw potential in that channel and wanted it to become much more than a spam-and-run. I run a free-speech oriented service called to encourage diversity of opinion on steemit, and I will help share the burden of continuing to make the PALnet discord a great place for all if the community needs me.
I require 3 witness to support me, but I would like to hear if the community is willing as well. Have I made your experience in the chat more pleasant? Or have I been a giant pain in your ass? Let me know in the comments.
