This is just a little 8x10" painting. I decided to play with metallic paints and texture. She's a fairy designed from a Praying Mantis. She's pretty fancy, but when you think of praying mantises, you should not forget their brutal mating rituals. I'm grateful to be human probably not often enough, but when I think of eating my partner to nourish our young, I'm just a little glad I'm mammalian.
Last night was our last pirate show of the year. It's too bad there are so few summer nights with enough heat and light for us to perform outside here, but Dave let me in on a little secret that we may, with some luck, get to create a new show to tide the winters over. Indoors, of course. Nobody would appreciate an outdoor winter show. Not the cast, not the audience, not Dave. Although a park is a viable idea for an outdoor show next summer, weather permitting.
The restaurant sign is done. I look forward to the unveiling of it! That'll be happening in the near future.
And today, I get to help Mikey move some heavy things around in a storage unit for one of his clients. Ah, we are cheap labour for love.
