Ada and Ayo were best friends in an undisclosed university in Lagos State.
They did almost everything together attending lectures, reading in the library, eating at the cafeteria, and sharing secrets about life and relationships.
Ayo was in a serious relationship with her boyfriend, and because she trusted Ada so much, she often talked about him with her. Ada acted supportive and caring, always giving advice and pretending to be happy for them.
But with time, Ayo began to notice strange changes. Her boyfriend became distant, secretive, and unavailable. At first, she ignored the signs because she never imagined betrayal could come from the two people she trusted the most.
One evening, the truth finally came out.
Ayo discovered that Ada and her boyfriend had been secretly dating behind her back. The same friend she laughed with, cried with, and trusted completely had been seeing her boyfriend in secret.
The betrayal broke her heart more than the relationship itself. It was no longer just about losing a boyfriend, it was about losing trust, friendship, and loyalty all at once.
