every now and then, I try another fancy restaurant and blog about it. Join me today to taste some of the local l culinary highlights they offer at Forto Dvaras, a cozy local institution in the picturesque old town center of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
The restaurant Forto Dvaras has continuously cherished the Lithuanian national culinary heritage for over ten years. The Lithuanian Food heritage fund has recently recognized its Didzkukuliai Cepelinai („Zeppelins“ for its characteristic form) as the most authentically accurate traditional potato dumplings in the country.
Upon entrance, you get an immediate glimpse of the rustical and traditional atmosphere of the place, as well as warm welcome of the friendly waiters. It also makes you curious about the creativity of the cooks ;-)
The restaurant offers a well-selected variety of dishes that cherish local tradition. Of course, I decided to go for the famous Zeppelins that come in different variations and with different sauces. I picked the Country Style Zeppelins with crackling sauce.
