Marbella, Spain - Marbella was startled by wildfire. Emergency center 112 received a disturbing report of a fire near the urbanization Bello Horizonte on Thursday 22 August at 8.20 p.m. Click image above to watch the coverage on dTube.
The residents had to evacuate.
In the video, you can see the devastating size of the sea of fire.
Recorded on the AP-7 towards the La Canada shopping center.
At 3 pm the fire brigade declares that fire has stabilized. The residents slowly return.
The cause of the fire is not known.
This fire is not related to the wildfire in Estepona, 33 klicks south of Marbella.
On August 19, a fire broke out causing 2,000 people to evacuate.
A Frenchman was arrested on suspicion of arson.
The Frenchman claims that he wanted to get rid of a hornet nest.
Radio Marbella has learned that the residents told Olive Press that the French man wanted to set a beehive on fire as revenge. This was not about Hornet's nest.
Parts of Spain and Catalunya have to deal with extreme dryness.
The blaze has destroyed over 25,000 acres on the island of Gran Canaria.
Radio Marbella ask tourists not to barbecue, extinguish cigarettes in an ashtray, and don't throw a glass in the wild.
