Every time the sun bids farewell.
At some point, I shared with you the magic of dawn, that sacred moment when the sky awakens and a cup of coffee becomes a silent companion. Today, however, my soul compels me to speak of another moment, equally profound yet distinct in its essence: sunset. Nothing moves me as much as sitting in front of my house, on that threshold I call home, and watching the daylight fade with a slowness that feels like a sigh. Colors spill over the horizon, oranges blending into violets, while the wind carries with it the weariness of the hours and the echo of what has been lived. Each fading hue is a story coming to a close, a task leaving its mark.
It is in that pause that the heart stops for a moment to give thanks. Lord, thank you for allowing my hands to finish today's work, for every effort that was not in vain, for every step taken, even the heavy ones. Closing my eyes to the advancing night is not surrendering; it is acknowledging that the day fulfilled its purpose. The light recedes, but it doesn't go out; it transforms into memory, into rest, into a silent promise.
And so, as shadows embrace the corners of my home, I feel a peace that needs no explanation. Tomorrow the sun will rise again, and with it, a new task that will not be a burden, but an opportunity. Because living with dignity is not only about moving forward, it is also about knowing when to stop, look at the sky, and understand that each sunset is an embrace from the universe that tells us: “Rest, you have done enough.” Today I close my eyes with a tranquil soul, knowing that tomorrow will arrive full of hope, and that as long as there is a sky that paints the end of the day with colors, there will be reasons to believe that life, in its simplicity, remains a sacred gift that is renewed with every breath. I always say that the best of life lies in the simplest things.
