Hi all, welcome back!
This post combines 3 topics:
- My road to 4 marathons within 365 days.
- Leo Power Up Day
- Hive Power Up Month.
Running
In 3,5 weeks I will run a Coast Marathon that combines running on the beach with running in a nature reserve. The route is around 85% unpaved and participants will have to use GPX locations to find the route. A few 100 participants will participate, all of this is completely different from the big city marathons I have participated in before. Furthermore the next marathon is 2 months after the coast marathon.
This means 2 things:
- I have to train different, where in the past I could just blindly follow the Pfitzinger training schedules I now have to focus on getting used to running on unpaved ground and running on my watch.
- There is not sufficient time between the two events to race both - as normally I would need around 2,5 weeks to recover and allow injuries to heal. Therefore I adjusted my expectations and will just aim to finish the coast marathon (staying in heartbeat zone 2 / low zone 3) so I can just continue training right after and aim to set a new PR in the city Marathon in April.
Weekly goal: 80-90 KM
Weekly progress: 25.4KM
In todays run I focused on getting some different undergrounds to have my body get more customed to needing to balance itself. Especially in the slimy mud having some balance was important. As I feel I am to late to buy and properly break in #trailrunning shoes, I just run on my normal running shoes. This means no additional grip and the occasional sliding of your feet while running. Fun - but also a bit harder on my knees. Aiming to incorporate an additional recovery run later this week (which I can combine with getting custom with the GPX routes).
Average heartbeat (147 BPM) was in line with what I plan to run during the event. Which means a comfortable pace but not really trying to set a time.
Happy running!
LEO Power Up Day #LPUD
15th of the month is when the Lions from INLEO power up their LEO. Just like with the Hive Power Up Day, Participants can earn a shiny badge, while showing their support to the project! I joined this #LPUD by staking 604.55 #LEO.
Hive Power Up Month | Day 15 #PUM
Starting the first of January I participate in the hive power up month challenge. Here you power up atleast 1 hive every day of the month. I find that participating really helps growing my hive power and got more much more active in posting on the platform.
Today I powered up 11.4 hive, bringing the intermediate score for Januari to a total of 160.5 Hive.
