I want to go surfing,
to feel the water under my feet,
paved with bubbles
flecked with foam,
the fiberglass board
underneath,
hair wind-blown.
I want to go surfing,
escape this day
of chores and bores,
simply do something
with no real goal,
at least that’s what they’d say;
crashing waves, specked with shale.
I want to go surfing
through adrenaline rushes,
smashed into splinters,
my mind at double speed
as I wipe out and fall,
through icicle water,
a beautiful alarm call.
I want to go surfing,
incandescent unraveling,
travelling without wheels
into the future,
sweating an ocean
of angry emotion,
away as I sway on the tide.
I want to go surfing
through a sunny dream,
a wave shaped slipstream,
making me whole,
a fish in its shoal,
riding the energies
of mish-mash sea’s.
