a few years ago, my parents were thinking of moving to another country. That's when they decided to move to the country where our grandparents were deported from in 1915. That's Armenia. I was shocked when I heard them talking about moving. It's not because I don't like that country but I never saw Armenia and everything that I have including friends are in the country that I was raised in, Lebanon.
Everything was good. I was going to school, play football after studies, then go and have fun with my buddies. But everything started to change in late 2014. That's when my parents officially announced that we will be moving to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia in June 2015.
Well, I was sad of course. I will not see my friends and everything is different there. The culture, language, food, and I don't know anyone there! But I became okay with the idea since I know that I have no choice. In early 2017, we already started to pack everything and organizing everything because it will take a lot of time to do and we don't want to keep everything late.
From the beginning of the year, me and my friends started to see more each other and do a lot of stuff together. In June 2015, we went to the airport and then everything began.
Yerevan is a beautiful city. Everything is good but a lot different from Lebanon like the language. Western Armenians like me kinda have a different Armenian than the Easterns. And because I was raised with Lebanese and not Armenian, I learned Armenian of course but didn't talk well. I also didn't know how to write or read Armenian because my school was a French one. I started to learn by myself and I am improving a lot more. The school was a problem to me but I met some Syrian-Armenians and became friends with them.
The only thing that I don't like in Armenia is the weather in Winter. You just freeze. It can become up to -15, -20 degrees while in Lebanon the maximum could be +7 in my city. Until now, I don't resist in Winter here. But in the Summer, it gets hot. That's what I like :D
I started to go places to spend some time and I also go with my friends sometimes. Lebanon was better for me since I had everyone there but Armenia is also good and I am learning and seeing a lot of new stuff :))
