A place where you can have a memorable dinner in Fukuoka
Medium Rare is a restaurant which located in the hotel With the Style, where I had the highest expectations on this trip and also gave me high satisfaction in Fukuoka.
With the style is a boutique hotel. There are only 14 rooms in the whole hotel, and it seems to be a lot of events such as parties and weddings.
I made a reservation by e-mail directly to the restaurant in Korea. I ordered special course with the extra lobster. Medium Rare is a famous restaurant with a high reputation and also reasonable price! The lunch course seemed to be a lot cheaper, but we really wanted to have Teppan Yaki as a dinner. I think if I had this dinner in Korea, it would have doubled or tripled price!
The appearance of the With the style from the outside was smaller than I thought and it looked like a just normal hotel, but as soon as I got inside, totally different whole new world started. I felt like I’m in another country!
Young and friendly female chef cooked for us. We had a lot of fun with her because she was pretty good at Korean.
For the start, I ordered sparkling wine.
The first appetizer was Savory egg custard. It was a cold one for summer. Soft and delicious.
The second appetizer was sashimi, shiitake mushrooms, and roast beef etc.
The third course, I got a roasted black Wagyu sushi. As soon as I put it in my mouth, it melted right away. It was so good so I really wanted to eat 10 more!
For the fourth course, the chef called this Nimono, but it was a little strange Japanese food to me.
The fifth course was grilled vegetables, it was just grilled veggies but even vegetables were so soft and tasty.
The next one is a lobster. I thought it was lobster, but the chef said it was actually Omar. They showed me when it’s still alive… and I was so sorry to eat it. But it was so soft, it melted as soon as I put it in my mouth too.
The main dish Wagyu steak time now!! I ate the Wagyu steak with a little bit of Wasabi and soy sauce, it tastes so unique but I could taste the original taste of beef. The garlic chips that came from Aoyama were also very good with the steak ;)
The last meal was garlic fried rice.
After eating half them, I poured hot soup and put a little wasabi and made it to Ochazuke.
And as a dessert, they served jasmine tea ice cream. It was really delicious frozen tea. Haha
Include green tea or coffee was a total of 10 courses, but we were so full so we couldn’t have a tea.
In this trip, the time we were in the with the style was the most memorable, and we were so happy that we couldn’t stop laughing all night.
I got little bit sad during the trip because this was the first time I traveled abroad with my mom, so I thought I should go travel a lot with her before I get married :)

잊지못할 저녁식사를 선사해준 곳 위드 더 스타일의 "미디엄 레어"
이번 후쿠오카에서 가장 기대치가 높았고 만족도도 높았던 레스토랑 바로 호텔 위드 더 스타일 내에 있는 미디엄 레어를 소개해드리고 싶어요. 위드 더 스타일은 후쿠오카시 내에 있는 부티끄 호텔이에요. 호텔 전체 객실이 14개정도 밖에 안되고, 주로 파티나 결혼식등의 행사를 많이 하는 곳 같더라구요.
저는 한국에서 레스토랑과 이메일로 직접 연락해 예약을 했는데요, 특선코스에 랍스터를 추가 주문했어요. 미디엄 레어는 후쿠오카내에서 인지도도 명성도 높은 레스토랑인데, 가격 또한 착하더라구요! 점심 코스는 훨씬 더 저렴한것 같았지만 뎃판야키는 역시나 저녁에 먹고싶어서 디너로 예약을 했습니다. 한국에서 이렇게 먹었으면 두배, 세배는 비쌌을거 같아요!!
밖에서 본 위드 더 스타일의 외관은 생각보다 규모가 작았고 평범한 호텔같았는데, 안에 들어서자마자 신세계가 펼쳐졌어요. 마치 다른나라에 와 있는듯한 착각 마저 들더라구요. 저희는 젊고 친절한 여성 셰프님께서 요리를 해 주셨어요. 한국어도 잘하셔서 저희 엄마와도 이런저런 이야기를 나누며 즐겁게 식사를 할 수 있었습니다.
일단 드링크로 스파클링 와인을 주문을 해 봤어요. 얼마 지나지 않아 첫번째 전채요리로 차왕무시가 나왔습니다. 여름이라 그런지 차갑게 주시더라구요. 부드럽고 맛있었습니다. 두번째 전채요리로는 사시미, 표고버섯, 로스트비프 등이 나왔어요.
세번째 코스는 흑와규를 불에 살짝 구운 스시가 나왔는데요, 입에 넣자마자 대박이라는 말이 저절로 나오더라구요. 입에서 살살 녹는다는게 이럴때 쓰는 말이겠죠? 진짜 10개는 더 먹고싶은 맛이였어요!! 네번째는 셰프님이 니모노라고 하셨던거 같은데 저한테는 좀 생소한 일본 음식이였어요. 맛은 쏘쏘~~ 다섯번째 코스는 채소를 구워서 주셨는데 그냥 채소도 이렇게 그릴에 구우니 너무 부드럽고 맛있더라구요.
그 다음은 랍스터입니다. 랍스터인줄 알았는데 셰프님께서 사실은 오마르 라고 하시더라구요. 처음에 살아 움직이는걸 가져다 보여주셔서 조금… 먹기 미안했어요ㅠㅠ 그렇지만… 너무 부드럽고 이것도 입에 넣자마자 녹더라구요^^ 같이 주신 소금에 콕 찍어 먹으니 너무 맛있었어요!!
이제 대망의 와규 스테이크 입니다!! 와규 스테이크는 와사비를 살짝올려 간장에 찍어 먹으니 담백한 맛이 일품이였어요. 그리고 아오야먀에서 왔다는 갈릭칩도 스테이크와 너무 잘어울렸구요^^
마지막 식사는 갈릭볶음밥이였습니다. 반정도 먹고 난뒤 스프를 부어 와사비를 조금 얹고 오챠즈케로 만들어 먹는걸 추천해주셨는데 정말 맛있었어요~^^
디저트로는 쟈스민티 아이스크림을 준비해주셨습니다. 정말 티를 얼린맛이였어요~!ㅎㅎ
마지막으로 녹차나 커피까지 마시면 총 10코스였는데요, 너무 배가 불러 차는 스킵했네요^^
이번 여행에서 위드 더 스타일에서의 시간이 가장 기억에 남고, 너무 즐겁고 행복해서 식사하는 내내 웃음이 끊이질 않았던거 같아요^^
이렇게 엄마랑 단 둘이 해외여행은 처음이였는데, 결혼하기 전에 많이 많이 다녀야겠다 생각하니 눈물이 핑돌때도 있었습니다~
