Omurice (Omelette Rice) Recipe!
Hey guys, this is . Today I made my favorite my mom's home cook meal Omurice which means omelet rice in Japanese. When I was young my mom often made this dish during my summer vacation! It's summer vacation period in South Korea so I decided to make my special summer break dish! Every time my mom made this for me I felt always special to eat this because it just looks so beautiful and even delicious!! Nowadays, there are many luxurious Omurice that they made with fluffy eggs omelet and their own special sauce, but I think my mom's easy&fast recipe is the best Omurice!
Let's get started!
Omurice
Prep: 10mins
Cook: 15mins
Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup of rice
• 2 eggs
• 1/4 cup of bell pepper
• 1/4 cup of onion
• 1/4 cup of ham or sausages
• 1/4 cup of carrot
• 1/4 of mushroom
• 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic
• 2 tablespoon of ketchup
• A little bit of butter
• 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese
• A pinch of salt and pepper
Course:
1. Cut the bell pepper, onion, ham, carrots, and mushrooms into a bite size. I like the crispy taste of vegetables, so I cut them in large pieces, but you can cut them smaller size if you want.
2. Add butter in a pan and fry minced garlic, ham, onion, pepper, carrots, mushrooms in order. Add a pinch of salt and pepper.
3. When the vegetables get softer, add 2 tablespoons of ketchup and rice. Mix them together.
4. Add cheese for the end, and turn the heat off.
5. Place into a round shaped bowl and set aside.
6. Mix 2 eggs with a pinch of salt in a bowl. And make thin egg omelet over low heat.
7. Place rice on a plate and put eggs omelete on top of rice.
8. Serve with more ketchup if you want.
I always ate Omurice with Kimch when I was young, but unfortunately, I didn't have any Kimch at home :( So I replaced it to yellow pickled radish. Especially if you're a huge fan of ketchup please try making this!
