Korean Banchan Series : Stir-fried Fish Cakes
Hey guys, this is . Today, I'm going to make the first dish in my Korean Banchan series. Banchan means side dish in Korean. Koreans staple food is rice and it is common to eat with side dishes. People usually make side dishes in one day and keep in the refrigerator for about a week. I often make a bunch of Banchans during the weekend and keep eating during the weekday :) It's so convenient and I can have healthy dinner! I'm going to make the stir-fried fish cake with savory and sweet soy sauce. Let's get started!
Stir-fried Fish Cakes
Prep: 15mins
Cook: 15mins
Ingredients:
• 400g of fish cakes
• 1/2 cup of thinly sliced onion
• 1/4 cup of thinly sliced spring onion
• 1/4 cup of thinly sliced carrot
• cup of thinly sliced hot pepper
• 1 teaspoon of seasame seed
Ingredients for sauce:
• 2 tablespoon of soy sauce
• 1 tablespoon of sugar
• 2 tablespoon water
• 1 teaspoon of minced garlic
• 1/2 tablespoon of sesame seed oil
Course:
1. Boil the fish cakes for about 2-3 minutes.
2. Add olive oil in a pan and fry green onion, garlic, onion, carrot in order.
3. When the onion turn light brown, add fish cakes and seasonings in a pan.
4. Saute for 5 minutes, and sprinkle sesame seed and turn off the heat.
Now you can put it in a container and keep it in the fridge for a week! It's the best if you have it with rice :)
Hope you guys enjoy it, thanks :)
